You will be guided by a professional photographer personally to make better pictures. At the same time you will get a good view of life in Cambodia, its typical landscape, the spectacular temples and the always friendly Khmers.

day 1
Full day photography workshop at selected temple sites within Angkor Park. A selection made by the photographer himself trying to avoid the big crowds. Eric will teach you about light, composition and camera settings. During lunchtime we'll have a closer look at the photographs been taken. (from 7am to 5pm / flexible)
day 2
The day starts with a visit to a pagoda (monastery) where we'll have a portrait photo session with some lovely monks at a Pre-Angkor temple site. After the session we'll ride out of town into the countryside visiting a small village to interact with the locals. After our homemade lunch (with time to look at our pictures) we will take a boat trip to one of the unspoiled floating villages close to the big lake where time stood still. With a bit of luck we'll watch the sun goes down over the ricefields on our way back to Siem Reap. (from 8am to 6pm)
day 3
Back to the Angkor temples in the morning. Again a selection made by Eric to avoid the big crowds. After lunch (incl critique session) at one of the best restaurants inside Angkor Park we will visit Siem Reap's big market and a small community along the Siem Reap River for some street photography. (from 5am to 3pm / flexible)

As an advanced amateur photographer who wanted to visit Angkor Wat and the the temples of Siem Reap area, I and my wife signed on to Eric's three day program. We received more than we expected. Of course we visited and photographed the temples. We also visited the countryside villages, markets and monasteries -getting a real "behind-the-scenes" view of life in Calmbodia. Photographing people is a favorite of mine and Eric really gave pointers on techniques to improve my skills in that area. This "tour" was like a class that not only taught me new photo skills but critiqued me just enough to allow me to improve, with the correct balance of praise versus constructive assessments. My wife, who is not into photography, was also thrilled with our tour with Eric and the special places he took us to. Eric is easy to get along with and a very skilled photographer. I would totally recommentd his tour as a unique and special way to tour Cambodia.

We spent 3 great days with Eric in Siem Reap on a comprehensive photography tour covering the temples, villages and countryside. I definitely feel that my photography skills have improved a lot, he made me think about light and shadows, and street photography in a completely new way. I would wholeheartedly recommend Eric's tour to anyone who loves photography and wants to take his/her skills to a new level.

I booked 3 days with Eric and I explained to him before I came that I was a novice in photography . I totally recommend Eric to novices and experts alike. He knows the best places , times , subjects etc and he is a great teacher . He doesn't tell you what to do but advises . He has patience and encourages you to experiment to get good results . He is also serious however he has a good sense of humour and is great to get on with . There was never a dull moment . I had a 2 day trip with Eric and then a 1 day trip . As a result I got fantastic shots with him and from what I learnt I carried on getting great shots when I was on my own . He also introduced me to Cambodian coffee with sweet milk . Unreal ! I am already planning another trip with Eric next year.

I went around Cambodia with Eric for seven days, from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. It was just a dense workshop of street photography, stunning. We went to places I would have never never found and visited if I had been on my own. Eric can teach you the art of photography and especially the art of street photography in a stunningly relaxed way. I had a great great time. When going to Angkor only, I can only recommend that you try to get hold of Eric. You will find the places also on your own. But you will not be at the best places at the right time. You will miss Eric's inspiration and hidden treasures. And if you are late (or early), you are amongst 100 tourist. Thank you so much, Eric!

My friend and I searched through the numerous Siem Reap Photo Workshop Courses which are reviewed in Trip Advisor and it did not take long for us to home in on Eric d Vries who seemed to have consistently good reviews - he did not disappoint.
From the outset Eric had us taking consistently great shots and it was not long before our confidence was such that under his careful eye we were off shooting subjects whilst making our own composition and camera settings.
The highlight of our time with Eric was the Monks Photoshot set amongst the ruins of a small Temple this was brilliant and even the Monks enjoyed Eric setting them in various poses for us to shoot. There is no doubt that this was the highlight of our trip to Siem Reap and it was a joy to have a professional like Eric sharing his experience. Next year we are going back for another Photo Workshop but we got so much out of the day course that we plan to go with Eric on his 1 Week Tour of Cambodia which we think will be awsome.
